A national green tourism demonstration base review team visited Zhangjiajie for an on-site inspection of the city bid. Zhangjiajie is a key national ecological area with high forest coverage, fresh air and abundant negative oxygen ions in its core scenic zones, along with notable biodiversity.
The team found the city's tourism resources rare and distinctive, its ecological protection and management well regarded, and its scenic development and marketing effective, meeting the conditions for the designation. It suggested enriching leisure and holiday products and improving facilities for independent and self-driving visitors.
