Zhangjiajie has been included in the first batch of national all-area tourism demonstration zones, one of 71 units selected nationwide. The all-area approach aims to let tourism drive wider regional development, planning scenic spots, towns and villages as a whole.
In recent years Zhangjiajie has invested steadily in linking quality scenic areas, distinctive towns and attractive villages, while improving its tourism services and supporting facilities. As a demonstration zone, it will keep integrating tourism with other industries, extending the visitor experience from simple sightseeing to leisure, holidays and culture.
