A direct flight between Guilin and Zhangjiajie is now in service, operating same-day round trips and offering travellers a faster way to move between the two cities. Zhangjiajie is known for its rare quartz-sandstone peak forest, while Guilin is famed for the Li River scenery; both rank among China's classic landscape destinations.
With the new route in place, tourism authorities in the two cities have agreed to jointly promote a Guilin–Zhangjiajie landscape itinerary and to deepen cooperation on exchanging visitors and linking travel products, so that a single trip can take in two very different yet equally striking natural settings.
